What is installment plan?
Installment plan is the same as installment purchase. From the start of the contract, you as the hire-purchaser are the economic owner of the property; we retain title until the last hire-purchase installment has been paid.
Legal ownership is then also transferred to you.
In addition to depreciation, the interest expense can also be claimed as an operating expense in the case of installment plan. In the case of installment plan, VAT is payable on the total rent receivable at the start of the contract.
